Human Trafficking 2

Do you know that there are over 600,000 to 800,000 people becoming the victims of the human trafficking worldwide. Very fantastic!! Can you imagine that if one of the victims is your family, relative, or your friend? The number can be much more than that. They are forced to be prostitute, slave, housekeeper with less payment, faming labour and many others.

“Katya, yang memiliki putri berusia dua tahun dan mengalami kegagalan berumah tangga di Republik Cheko, mengikuti saran seorang “teman”nya yang mengatakan bahwa ia bisa mendapatkan banyak uang jika bekerja sebagai pelayan di Belanda. Seorang agen membawanya bersama empat orang wanita muda lain ke Amsterdam, dimana Setelah mereka dihubungkan dengan penjual dari Belanda, ia dibawa ke rumah pelacuran. Setelah mengatakan “saya tidak akan melakukannya”, ia dijawab “ya, kamu akan mengerjakannya, jika kamu ingin anak kamu di Republik Cheko tetap hidup”. Setelah bertahun-tahun diancam dan dipaksa sebagai pekerja seks, Katya diselamatkan oleh seorang pengemudi taksi yang baik hati. Katya saat ini bekerja di sebuah rumah sakit dan belajar untuk mendapatkan sebuah gelar dalam pekerjaan sosial.”

Human Trafficking

Guys, Have you ever heard about human trafficking? It sounds weird isn’t it? But, it happens around us worldwide. A trafficking happens when a recruiting people, or transporting, delivering people someplace without having the agreement of the people itself through kidnapping, threat, and violence. Most of this crime is  aimed for having new woman in a prostitution business,  slavery, and other purposes where the victims are forced to do something they don’t want to do without payment.

How this crime can happen? Most cases are caused by lack of awareness, poverty, and uneducated.

Who are the victims? All of us are potential to be the victim of this crime, mostly children and women.
